Clinics

From exploring global rhythmic traditions to contemporary drum set playing to the need for versatility in the 21st century music scene, I offer well-crafted clinics that are informative and inspirational. In each of my clinics, I aim to give students a concrete, hands-on understanding of new skills, thought-provoking concepts, or new pathways forward that will inspire curiosity on their educational journey. My current clinics include:

Reframed Rhythm
An interactive workshop that explores the rhythmic vocabularies of North African, Indian, Brazilian, Puerto Rican, and Middle Eastern music cultures through the frame drum.

Authenticity and Adaptation: Global rhythms on the Drum Set
A performance / demonstration clinic focused on applying traditional Afro-Cuban and Brazilian styles to the drum set.

Texture | Timbre in Contemporary Drum Set
A performance / demonstration clinic focused on the modern hybrid drum set

The New Versatility: Composer | Improviser | Performer
A performance / demonstration clinic focused on the modern musician's need to be fluent in many areas of creative music-making.

Rudimentaal: Exploring Tabla Vocabulary on the Snare Drum
A performance / demonstration clinic focused on the connections between Hindustani tabla and modern rudimental snare drum performance.
